While much of the alpaca’s temperament is
inherited, how you handle them can make a big difference.
Handled properly, your animals will learn to trust you, making
it a joy for you and your animal. Although we have much to
learn, we have had the privilege of taking several clinics from
Marty McGee Bennett, a well known trainer in the alpaca and llama
industry.
As mentioned in Marty’s book,
THE
CAMELID COMPANION,
our goal is to learn to be kind, respectful, safe and to have
fun so that we gain the trust, companionship, friendship,
confidence and obedience of our animals.
As we continue our education with Marty we hope
to be able to share what we learn with our customers and those
who have a desire to learn more about these unique animals.
If you are
not yet ready to have your animals at home with you, or if you just
would like to get started in the business without having to invest
in property, fencing, etc., we would love to take care of your
animals for you. For a monthly fee plus any major medical expenses
we would be happy to care for your animals. Our herd is small so we
have plenty of room to house your animals comfortably and there is
always someone home to watch over them.
When you are
ready, we even will include them on our sales list.
