Alpacas and llamas are members of the camelid family of mammals. The Paleozoic record indicates that camelids first appeared on the North American continent during the Eocene epoch, which ended approximately 33 million years ago.
We are the Lamarche's! This has been a journey for us. When our son Michael had his car accident at age 16 our lives changed. He received a Traumatic Brain Injury and we knew that we would be taking care of Michael for a good while.
Our herd consists of 26 Huacaya alpacas, plus 3 llamas.

We offer tours of our farm for a minimal fee where you can learn about the alpaca, touch their luxurious fiber, and perhaps even receive a special alpaca kiss. It is an excellent field trip for groups or organizations – whether its kids groups or adults. We also offer simple fiber art projects for those artists in the family.
Royal Oaks also has a farm store, where you may purchase alpaca yarn and other items made from alpaca fiber as well as raw fiber.
