Alpacas and llamas are members of the camelid family of mammals. The Paleozoic record indicates that camelids first appeared on the North American continent during the Eocene epoch, which ended approximately 33 million years ago.
We are the Lamarche's! This has been a journey for us. When our son Michael had his car accident at age 16 our lives changed. He received a Traumatic Brain Injury and we knew that we would be taking care of Michael for a good while.
Our herd consists of 23 Huacaya alpacas, 10 girls and 13 boys, plus three llamas.
We offer animals for sale and have several herdsire quality males we have available for breeding for a small fee. Our bloodlines consist of Pharr Online, Dakini, Rhett Butler, Erroll Flynn, PPPeruvian El Moustachio, Dundee's Stonewall Jaxon, Pleuro's Mielo S177. We have added to our bloodlines with a breeding to Snowmass Matrix Freedom. Martita's cria is scheduled to be born in February and we are so excited to see the results.
We offer tours of our farm for a minimal fee where you can learn about the alpaca, touch their luxurious fiber, and perhaps even receive a special alpaca kiss. It is an excellent field trip for groups or organizations – whether its kids groups or adults. We also offer simple fiber art projects for those artists in the family.
Royal Oaks also has a farm store, where you may purchase alpaca yarn and other items made from alpaca fiber as well as raw fiber.
